Monte’s was established in the winter of the early 70’s opening its doors as the very first pizza restaurant in the thriving Thredbo Village.
Co founded by Nick and Brigitte Tropiano their vision was simple, to produce the finest pizza and Italian food Thredbo had to offer. After a long and successful run this multi award winning restaurant moved briefly to the Hills district of outer western Sydney to continue the tradition of excellence in pizza. Despite enjoying wide success in their new location Nick and Brigitte’s love for the Blue Mountains convinced them to move once more and in 1988 opened their doors to Blaxland and have remained ever since. Nowadays it’s not just Joel running the show he is backed up by a talented culinary team of head chef Brandon Bearder, pizza chef Cassandra Maxwell and a solid youthful and experienced passionate team around him. Joel says ” I felt it was time to take Monte’s in a new direction and go from a strictly a take away venue, to a smart yet hip cafe / restaurant, as apart from growing up in this business I have also come from a fine dining background and wanted to bring an extra dimension to Monte’s”.
